What is School Report ?
BBC News School Report gives 11-16 year-old students in the UK the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience.
Using lesson plans and materials from this website, and with support from BBC staff and partners, teachers help students develop their journalistic skills to become School Reporters.
In March, schools take part in an annual News Day, simultaneously creating video, audio and text-based news reports, and publishing them on a school website, to which the BBC aims to link.
School Reporters in March 2012 produced a stunning array of content with more than 1,000 schools across the UK making the news on the biggest ever School Report News Day.

Unemployment on the rise
There has been a rise in unemployment in Devon
Figures show 19,802 people were out of work and claiming jobseeker's allowance last month - 265 more than in January.
In the Devon county area, the figure was 9,842 - 24 more than the previous month. Plymouth's figure rose by 142 from 6,136 to 6,278.
In Torbay, the number of claimants went up by 99 from 3,583 to 3,682.
Nationally, the figure fell by 1,500 to 1.54 million - the lowest level since June 2011, according to the ONS.
In percentage terms, at 2.2% and 3.7% respectively, both Devon and Plymouth's unemployment rate is lower than the national seasonally-adjusted rate of 4.7% - the same as Torbay's rate.
