Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award

A huge well done to all our Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award participants this term – as you will see from the certificate below, which was awarded to us recently at a South West Regional Manager’s Meeting, our young people have been achieving great things and putting these towards their DofE Award.

This is particularly exciting to see, as most of our participants are recently new to the Award - well done and continue to enjoy your experiences and adventures!

There is still time to enrol for those students who have not done so already, you probably do lots of things in and out of school that count towards this award, so what are you waiting for – see Mrs Trotter in L113 if you require further information and wish to enrol!

Huge well done to Reece, Zack, Phillip, Brandon and Christian for successfully completing their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award practice expedition on Dartmoor recently.

This is a great achievement; they were out on Dartmoor for 4 days and 3 nights, 2 of those nights were wild camping, no easy feat! We were extremely impressed with their comradery and teamwork; they helped each other during difficult areas of the expedition and at one point, were pushing each other along difficult inclines when blisters were making things challenging.

Great work everyone, we are all very proud of you – onwards and upwards now to the assessed expedition!
