35 Cade students took part in a workshop on Empathy and Immigration presented by the Red Cross this morning.
It was incredibly thought provoking and gave students a deep insight into the plight of refugees leaving countries including Afghanistan and Syria.
Students had discussions on different scenarios they may face as a refugee including, what they would take with them if they had to leave home forever and could only take their school bag? Who and what they would miss most if they knew they could never return home?
Students had to plan an escape route from persecution, each scenario had two lived options, both as perilous as each other.
The 6th form students participated thoughtfully and empathetically, they came away with a far greater appreciation on the enormous challenges and dangers refugees face everyday.
