Many students have been supported to go university with courses in everything from Occupational Therapy to Law, and in locations across the country from York to Exeter and Plymouth, with a significant increase in Russell group place acceptances. Others have secured fantastic jobs and apprenticeships locally including the NHS.

Ewan Pearce achieved an A* in Maths, a Distinction* in Engineering, B in Physics, and B in Further Maths, and is now off to the University of York to study Maths.

Holly Price is starting an apprenticeship in Pharmacy after being awarded an A in Art, B in Extended Project, and C in Biology.

Matthew Duggan achieved a Distinction in Engineering, B in Geography, and B in Sociology. He is heading to the University of Bristol to study Geography with a year abroad.

Kiara Nagaya is staying in Plymouth to study Occupational Therapy at Plymouth Marjon University after securing a B in Psychology, B in Art, and B in Biology.

Joshua Hicks is entering employment after receiving an A* in Sociology, Distinction in Sport, and C in Psychology.

The results cap a successful year for Tor Bridge High’s sixth form, with students combining their studies with a wide range of opportunities beyond the classroom. Through careers guidance, employer partnerships and mock interviews with global engineering company Babcock International, students have gained valuable insight into the world of work.

Students have helped launch and run The Bridge, the school’s student-led café, gaining practical experience in areas including food preparation, stock management and customer service. They have also taken part in an educational visit to New York, where they explored the city’s landmarks, history and culture while developing their independence.

Students in the Plymouth Patriots Basketball Academy have combined their A-level studies with specialist coaching and competitive fixtures, representing the academy in regional and national competitions while balancing the demands of academic study and elite sport.
