Tor Bridge High would like to celebrate the success of Faraday student Lewis Elliott in year 8. During Lockdown, Lewis was one of two Royal Navy service children from the Royal British Legion’s Military Kids Club who wrote a Tri-forces song for Armed Forces Day. This was for a competition organised by the Never Such Innocence charity. The song titled ‘Welcome Home’ won first prize in the 9-11 age group category and was recorded in the Abbey Road studios…just like the Beatles. The song premiered at the National Memorial Arboretum on the 26th June for Armed Forces day.
The song was just one of hundreds of entries received from over 95 countries. This is an amazing example of the collaborative spirit that we celebrate, Lewis is a great example of a student selflessly supporting those around him and helping to make the world around him a better place. The never Such Innocence Charity aims to give children and young people a voice on war through the creative arts and public speaking.
Well done Lewis for exemplifying the characteristics that we celebrate in our individuals to Tor Bridge High.
